Description: As a part of a design course, Praxis II, my team and I were tasked with creating a solution for the water dripping on the Alan Carswell Telescope at York University due to the leaky dome. The existing solution was a simple tarp covering the telescope.

Role: My role was that of the project manager and mechanical designer. As project manager I set the meeting agendas and made sure the team was on the right path during meetings while staying on track with our schedule. I was also responsible for making the team use design brainstorming such as 6-3-5 and matrix converging. My role as the mechanical designer entailed responsibilities such as CADing prospective prototypes as well as simulating how each solution would fair in comparison when water is dropped on them. These simulations helped us narrow down to the shape of a parabolic shape dome.
